I have always been fascinated by textures. When I was a child I read the early Mad magazines in which the artwork was so wonderfully detailed. I loved especially the crosshatch pen and ink work of Jack Davis. He was absolutely wacky as a cartoonist and I got my nose right down on the page to see every flick of his quill in the illustrations.

I have always maintained that eye for detail, whether in the art of man or nature. Find here a sample gallery of close-up shots of textures found in the immediate word around me daily.
